Get Summer Ready with These Easy Tips

Summer is a thrilling time of year. The weather gets warmer, the days get longer – cities come alive in the heat, and exciting plans are made with friends and family. There are pool days, late night star-gazing, and festivals! What’s not to love? Tropical Brazil is a fan of everything that comes along with summer but is equally passionate about preparing for the heat and UV rays responsibly! Read on to pick up some good tips on how to get summer ready this season.

Things to think about as the mercury climbs

Summer is famously a carefree season. It’s dryer, so we don’t have to worry about rain. It’s hotter, so even if it does rain – who cares! But heat and sunshine can dehydrate your body quickly, leading to effects ranging from the small (like bad breath, dry skin, and fatigue), to the big (like passing out and suffering seizures). That’s why ensuring you’re plenty hydrated throughout the day will give your body better breath, more energy, and a fresher completion. It’s a win, win, win, really.

Top tip: To give yourself a boost of hydration, vitamins, and other key nutrients – consider making a frozen smoothie. Choose greens, berries, or mango and papaya or something else, – the choice is yours.

Be sun smart

Slip, slap, slop, slide. Do we really need to say this? Australians know that they got the raw end of the sun-deal and are well educated in staying sun smart. Still, two in three Australians will be diagnosed with some form of skin cancer by the age of 70, so it does warrant repeating. In preparation for summer, stock up on some easy-to-put-on sunscreen and a great hat.

Stay cool

It’s easy to go overboard when the weather gets warmer, but it’s important to take measures to avoid overheating as the mercury rises. How do we love staying cool?
