Vitamin C, also known as L-ascorbic acid, is an essential micronutrient for all humans. Sadly, it doesn’t occur naturally in our bodies, nor can we produce it. The daily recommended intake of Vitamin C for adults is about 45mg and although it can be taken in supplement form, you should be able to get a sufficient amount by eating a balanced diet.
